Android GCS / Note 4 / OPLM

by discojon » Mon Oct 05, 2015 2:44 pm

I am unable to get the Android GCS to connect to my pipxtreme flashed OPLM on my Galaxy note 4 or Nexus 7. Using otg cable known to work with other devices. 0.36 version of Android GSC. The error is shown below

Let me update the software in the store - looks like you are using a more recent firmware version.

Is there somewhere I can get an updated copy other than building it or in the store?

A roundabout way is to download the matching linux package on the windows machine. Use a xz extractor to extract and decompress the tar. It has the androidgcs apk in it. Once you get that you can copy and install to your device.

There's an APK for Android in the release:

https://github.com/TauLabs/TauLabs/rele ... g/20150922

Unfortunately I am not able to test it myself as I don't have an Android device. I'm told that Google Maps doesn't work because it's not signed with an API key.

I had tried that release the other day before i posted, but it will not install.

I guess i can try to hook my HB02 BT module to the main port on the OPLM and connect via bluetooth.

The version on the store should be updated. Are you still seeing the same error? You are running the most recent release?

I'm still seeing .36 updated on Oct 5 in the store and it's not prompting for an update. I'll try again later in the day. Thanks for helping!
