Transparent Serial Bridge with ESP8266

by DougLorenz » Sun Jul 05, 2015 11:44 pm

I've been playing around with an ESP8266, trying to get it to act as a WiFi to serial bridge connected to a flight controller. I've got the hardware and firmware set up, but I don't know enough about the serial protocol for telemetry between GCS and FC to get it configured correctly. Has anyone else had any luck trying to do this?

Hey,

are you using https://github.com/beckdac/ESP8266-transparent-bridge and the CC3D FC?

Just telnet into your ESP and send "+++AT BAUD 57600 8 N 1".
Now set your Main-/Flexiport to "Telemetry".

;)

Just in case anyone still needs an answer to his question after a month :D

Just in case anyone still needs a further answer:

You can also check this firmware: https://github.com/jeelabs/esp-link
Serial port configuration is made through a web interface.
