OPlink & Taulabs

by Kawobei » Fri Jan 30, 2015 9:48 am

So trying to get an OPlink & a RevoMini connected for control (not telem)

I load the firmware "fw_pipxtreme.tlfw" on the OPlink and now in windows it is an unrecognised usb device.
The build I tried to use was taulabs_next_20141126_142438_64887b48d9_win32

Am I missing a driver for windows?

I even installed OpenPilot GCS to see if it would put something on that would recognize it.

Any help?

Peabody, you could save me some trouble and just send me the new board with a sparky2 so I can use its on board radio. :)

On a side note this thing runs really hot just plugged into USB.

Kawobei - the code for the PipX (compatible with OPLink) is merged. Do you want to try a recent version from jenkins and see if it works for you?

Cool - you might want to wait till I merge this small improvement https://github.com/TauLabs/TauLabs/pull/1491 that makes binding work more reliably.

I tried jenkins latest windows build:
taulabs_next_20150228_180636_c1971450a2_win32
Firmware updated the OPlink and Revo
Used the wizard Coordinator for OPlink and Revo for the next one set power to 100
Both units have antennas on.
And I get nothing the blue light on the OPlink flashes every now and then but they never connect.

How hot should the OPlink get?
cause dang it gets so hot I would not hold it in my hand for any long periods of time. I might find heatsink to put on it or may a fan to actively cool it.

Commented on https://github.com/TauLabs/TauLabs/pull/1491 about feedback for save functions in wizard.

Hmm... I hoped it would work on revo. Can you open the browser, plug in the OPLink and fetch HwTauLink and screenshot it. Also screenshot the RFM22BStatus.

Plug in revomini and screenshot HwRevoMini and RFM22BStatus Instance 1.

Weird... It's like none of the settings even tried to save. I'll take a look on similar hardware tonight. In the mean time, you can probably get working by entering these settings:

(On both)A:
Radio: Telemetry+PPM
MaxRfSpeed:100000
MaxRfPower: 100 mW (make sure you have antenna connected)

(On RevoMini):
CoordID: 3052101599 (this is the BoardID from RFM22BStatus on the OPLink)
