Linux distribution

by WZ9V » Wed Aug 26, 2015 5:25 pm

Is there a particular Linux distribution that works best for a development taulabs setup?

I've been playing around with Mint 17.2 but wondered if there was a better choice since I'm not too committed to any one version just yet.

I just saw there is a VM I can put into VirtualBox. Is that the best place to start.

Ubuntu seems to be the path of least resistance. Anything will do though really, it's Windows that's a pain. :P

OK. I've been trying Mint 17.2 but still not entirely sure. I have not tried Ubuntu 14 or 15. The articles I've read make me think I won't like the default GUI on the Ubuntu versions. From what I've seen Ubuntu seems to pitch 15 for developers.

Mint is based on Ubuntu so it should do just as fine. Unless you go for the Debian based Mint.
