Wild oscillations on roll axis

by inbilla » Thu May 26, 2016 3:44 am

Hey Guys,

I'm currently trying to setup a Trifecta with a sparky.
I had it running perfectly out of the box with default settings originally, though after falling off my desk during a configuration session, the USB port on the sparky snapped off (facepalm).
So I bought another....
However this one has wild oscillations with default settings on the Roll axis.

Anyone have any ideas how I could resolve this? Is it likely a hardware issue?
Can anyone suggest any trouble shooting steps to isolate the issue and rectify it?

Cheers

Josh

Double check your input settings. If all's sane there, you probably either have a hardware problem or an issue where vibration is coupling into the sensors badly. (Can you see it on the PFD, either at baseline or when you spin motors on the ground?)

I've recorded a log file of the frame whilst stationary. I don't have any thing to compare it to though. Perhaps someone can compare it to theirs? any help is appreciated!

i think the gyro especially looks a bit noisy? though the scale on the graphs changes dynamically... so maybe this is normal...
