Flying the TBS Gemini with other TauLabs boards

by elafargue » Sun Feb 22, 2015 1:01 am

Just a quick post: I just finished testing a Gemini adapter for TauLabs flight controllers which makes it super easy to use any FC instead of the Colibri, with minimum wiring...

Below is an example with the BrainFPV FC. Took about 15 minutes to wire it up, and it sits nicely on the Gemini. The top canopy does not play nice with it, but you can't have everything :)

One really nice aspect, is that is it fully self-contained: you can just swap the flight controllers without having to connect/disconnect extra wires.

I can probably make a couple more if anyone's interested, just contact me direct!

Nice :). I hope you disconnected the Vtx; they don't like to be run without antenna. How does it handle? Were you able to import the TBS settings and it flew similar as with the Colibri FC?

Yes, the VTX is not connected, you can see the plug on the upper right :) Handles beautifully, very smooth. I just used AutoTune after installing the Brain, scratched my head after forgetting to update PWM outputs for 400Hz - it actually flies on 50Hz with lots of weird and scary artifacts -, then everything was perfect.

I now need to hook up the OSD part, that one will require a bit of extra wiring...

Hi elafargue.

I was checking out the site and I saw your board for the tbs gemini. Have you got any more available? I'd like to try one.
