small and clean quad

by Elyot » Tue Nov 04, 2014 10:02 pm

My first Quad (SK450/MT2213/Aeronaut CamCarbonLight 9x5/Quanton/QBrain4x25A) is a little big for daily use, so I started to build a small one. I like clean designs and the result is this:

Size:
- Frame 194 x 194 mm
- Motor - Motor 158 mm (diag. 223 mm)

Weight:
- around 380 g + lipo
- (with a Zippy Compact 2200/3s 560 g, I have to buy some 1000-1300/3s)

Components:
- Flyduino 1806 motors
- 6030 HQProp
- 18A Kiss-ESC (in the arms)
- Quanton FC (middle tier)
- HC-05 BT (middle tier)
- APM Power-Sensor with BEC (lower tier)
- FrSky D4R-II (lower tier)
- LEA-6H GPS (upper tier, ext. compass not used)

Mechanical parts:
- 1,5mm GFK
- 10mm acrylic glass (lasered)

To do:
- black screws
- WS2812-LEDs for orientation and maybe for signalling low voltage, flight mode, ...

Settings are the default, feels very good. Next I will try autotune.

Very clean, I like it! Must look like it's carrying a brick with a 2200 under it though :D
